Teaching Bio

Blair's professional acting, directing, and teaching credits extend throughout New England, the U.S. , Canada, and Europe. Since 1994 he has been a teaching artist with the New Hampshire Theatre Project, the award-winning educational theater company based in Portsmouth, NH where he also serves as Producing Director. He is a juried teaching Theater Artist on the NH State Council on the Arts Artist in Education roster, who shares  his work in professional theater with educators and students to help illuminate the great possibilities of theater as a teaching and team building tool.

Blair helped originate, and is one of the NH state leaders, in the area of Peer-Issue Theater, creating original student-written scenes to initiate dialogue around adolescent and teen issues, and has served as the Theatrical Director of the highly-acclaimed peer outreach troupe Manchester Youth Theatre since 1989. He is also an Emcee and Game Announcer for the FIRST Robotics Competitions, adding the power of stage  performance to a science and technology competition from Tel Aviv to Toronto to Las Vegas and beyond.

Blair's easy sense of humor, genuine ability to connect with kids, and collaborative nature make residencies and workshops fun and meaningful for actors, educators, and audience. Regardless of whether it's a Shakespeare, Story Theatre, or Peer-Issue residency, Blair creates a supportive environment where the young artists feel empowered and respected.
